Maybe the good old delete "ClientRegistry.blob" could help?
Tried verifying the installation. Still the same issue.
Tried even uninstalling the reinstalling Wallpaper Engine. Still the same issue, but then with the unfortunate hassle of it wanting to redownload ALL of the many wallpapers I was subscribed to from the workshop, even though all of those folders and files were still there locally on my computer. :P
So, I guess for now I'll just have to put up with Steam always wanting to download a 0byte "update" for Wallpaper Engine every time I start the Steam-client.
I found one post that gave the following suggestion:
"-Completely exit the steam client
-Press Windows Key on your Keyboard and R (Windows Key + R)
-Type: steam://flushconfig then press enter"
In my case, after doing this, I noticed the little busy circle icon appear with my mouse pointer, so I waited it for it to finish (took about 10 seconds), then the Steam-client automatically restarted with a message of something like "Do you want to clear the download cache?", to which I confirmed. Then after a moment I was at the Steam login prompt (I had to re-enter in my Username and Password), the Steam-client fully loaded in and that time it didn't do the 0byte update for Wallpaper Engine.
However, after closing the Steam-client and restarting it, the same issue has returned again with Wallpaper Engine doing a 0byte update. :P
I'm suspecting it could maybe have something to do with one of the wallpapers I'm subscribed to? Not sure. Or it's just one of those strange bugs with Steam.
I have that disabled in the Steam settings.
If you ever find the reason, I am curious :)
