stuck at 90%
I am trying to create my own wallpaper with the program, but every time I select a background image to use it gets stuck at 90% loading the picture. The whole program does nothing anymore and I have to close the program.

It's still compiling, if the compiler process would crash or freeze, it should show an error. How large is the image?

The jpg is 2MB, it was sitting at 90% for quite a while so I assumed the program crashed or something. How long wait time can I expect when importing an image?

I should have asked for resolution instead of size - but if it's i.e. 2048 * 2048 or more it can take minutes to compress into DXT5 format. Also note that it will pad the resolution to the next power of two for the GPU, so 2049 * 2049 will take significantly longer than 2048.

You can switch to the beta branch where you can choose the format upon importing and it will default to an uncompressed format (RGBA8888), which imports more or less instantly.

What are the stats of the image?

The beta isn't needed anymore, it uses the uncompressed format by default now (unless you are importing a model, but you can change the format there).
