Wallpaper Engine still on boot when removed completely
Alright, so the thing is: Wallpaper Engine is still on boot when it's been removed completely. I can't find any files in my installation folder (steamapps/common)

Did you install it to a different location? Right click the .exe in task manager and 'open file location' to find it.

Well, I didnt find Wallpaper engine that fun, and I refunded the application. But every time I boot up my PC, it leaves a blank screen and it shows in the taskbar that Wallpaper engine is running. Even though I completely removed it from my PC. I have to exit the application (through the taskbar) to remove the white screen.

It doesn't install/copy anything outside of the installation folder, so if it is still running, then Steam did not uninstall it properly (you did uninstall it, right? Because refunding does not uninstall anything).

If you use the trick with the task manager, you can find the location of the files more easily when in doubt. It would show up there as wallpaper32/64.exe.

I indeed uninstalled it completetly, and then refunded it through Steam. And the files are still in steamapps/common/wallpaper_engine. How can I remove these?

By deleting them manually - if Windows says the file is in use, just make sure to close it through task manager first.

In my case the app kept showing in the Startup list, to solve this you need to open the Registry Editor app and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Delete the WallpaperEngine entry and reboot your system, after that the app no longer appear in the Startup list.

I thought I was having this problem as well. It was actually another live wallpaper application that I was misidentifying as wallpaper engine. I installed that one because the live video feed of the international space station that I wanted as my wallpaper ended up not working in wallpaper engine, so I installed lively, which also didn't work. Then I completely forgot I had installed lively and would wake up every morning to find the broken ISS feed back on my desktop. I kept thinking wtf wallpaper engine, please stop. Uninstalled it, then restarted and whadya know its back... looked through task manager, saw lively, then rememebered, uninstalled it and now we're good phew.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to get the live feed of ISS (the actual live feed, not the youtube videos that daytime footage in when its at night) please let me know.

Wallpaper Engine supports the Edge WebView now which can legally display h.264 video live streams.

If you have a suitable fullscreen URL you can load a live stream in Wallpaper Engine by enabling that option in the "open wallpaper from URL" dialog.

It might be in the task manager as Aura Wallpaper or something like that. Try looking for something that has to do with wallpaper and ending it. If it doesn't work, then create a dump file with it. After that right click on it and go to the file location and delete it.
