Wallpaper Engine won't launch - File Verification Errors
Hello, I'm getting those issues which prevents me from opening the WE.

I'm trying to update to a newer version but it simply doesn't work. This is the error:

---------------------------
File Verification Errors
---------------------------
The verification of the following files failed. Please verify the files over Steam (right click, properties, local files, verify). This can happen due to download errors in Steam or anti-virus programs falsely detecting files and causing problems. If you have an anti-virus that is not from Microsoft, make sure that it does not interfere with Steam and Wallpaper Engine.

D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\wallpaper32.exe

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

In the installer console:

Failed to discover existing processes.
Failed to copy file: The file is already being used by another process. D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\wallpaper32.exe, D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\common\wallpaper_engine\distribution\wallpaper32.exe

Failed verifying file: D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\common\wallpaper_engine\distribution\wallpaper32.exe

I've tried reinstalling, verifying integrity, also opt in for beta channel. No luck at all.

You need to close the program, something is hindering the updater from closing it (perhaps because it was run as admin or so).

Thank you!
Even closing manually it had a process opened in the manager. I had to kill it. :steamhappy:
