Some kind of "fixed" / "locked" monitor identification option?
I'm constantly losing all my wallpaper settings because none of the WPE's monitor identification options hold for long. See my post about this issue.

To quote my own comment from that post:

Playing though the playlist (by pressing "next wallpaper" from the taskbar) shows the wallpapers correctly with no issues, but selecting the same wallpaper from the menu doesn't load the right settings for that wallpaper.

i.e. All settings have reset, but the ones stored in the playlist itself, though they appear broken in the list, work just fine and have the old settings.

This doesn't really help me, but it does tell me that there is no functional issue with whatever is going wrong, WPE just constantly thinks the monitors have changed, presumably is why the playlist appears like that: because they are "for another monitor setup".

Now as for my suggestion:
Seeing as loading the wallpapers from the playlist made for another monitor setup works just fine, I wish there was an option to sort of lock the monitor setup in place. Meaning, when I have set it up to my satisfaction, I could then go in the settings and lock it, so that Wallpaper Engine just loads the settings for that locked setup, regardless of whatever it thinks my current setup is (until I unlock it again). If I understand how it works, this should fix the issue where WPE constantly creates new sets of settings for each (functionally identical) monitor setup it thinks I have.

Of course, even better would be if it didn't constantly think I have a new monitor setup, but, well, see my other post...

it would be already more than enough if we could get a "save all wallpaper settings" button...with that we could just load the presets with just one click.
but yeah your way is also convenient

the feature is added to the beta version
That feature has existed for a long time and I use it, but it's different.

The issue is, when WPE thinks it has detected a new monitor setup, it internally creates a new type of profile and all the wallpaper specific settings are stored referencing that profile. How the profile is identified depends on the "Monitor identification" option in the settings. Now, if that profile changes (automatically when WPE detects "new" monitors/monitor layout), the wallpapers lose their settings, because there are no settings stored for the new profile.

At least, I think that's right. Still, in case you're right, the next time I lose my wallpaper settings, I'll try to load the Display profile to see if that has any effect.
