What's with all of the anime , porn , and semi-dressed chars?

Am I the only one who's bothered with the amount of barely dressed characters and porn uploaded to this?
i'm tired of browsing for a simple wallpaper and getting a freak with gigantic boobs rubbing herself on a pole or whatever the f*** that is.

Has anyone ever considering - what if a kid is browsing this?
Where's the enforcement?
Where's the appropriate filtering?

It's probably a bunch of kids uploading it in the first place. Being Steam, the adult:kid ratio is probably very much in favor of the kids. You are not the only one bothered by it - I've actually been checking on newly added wallpapers less and less because I know it's just going to be more pictures/videos of anime girls.

There is the Steam Subscriber Agreement (found in the footer below) and the blurb at the top of the page when users submit works to Steam. You can read that here http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/edititem/767/3/

So as you can see, while anime girls and kink images are perhaps distatesful for some, it is actually allowed within the rules - though "sexual content" should probably be better defined ("sexually suggestive" or "sexually explicit" ???). I do however think we need a more aggresive tagging and filtering system. As you said, not everyone here wants to be greeted by certain kinds of content, whether it is allowed or not - but I'm not sure if Steam even offers that kind of advanced filtering yet.

The fact is simply that wallpaper content is so vast that trying to build a repertoire of wallpaper content on Steam Workshop is impractical in many senses - including this one.

Lots of people like anime. What's wrong with it? If you don't like it, skip over it.

I haven't seen much in the way of porn (actual sex acts) in any of the wallpapers (though I've seen a few and usually they are removed, probably by a Moderator, soon after they are posted).
Personally, being a consenting adult I don't mind it, but I guess it would be good if Steam added in an "Adults Only" section for that type of content. Steam already sells some M-Rated / Age-restricted games.

If you're worried about what kids are browsing, well, then really isn't that up to the Parents to monitor what their kids are doing, accessing and watching?

And personally, I don't see anything wrong with characters wearing tight-fitting or skimpy clothing or having "big boobs" or a nice looking butt.

Do you get to be offended and complaining if you happen to see a girl in real life with big-boobs who might just happen to be wearing some tight-fitting clothes? *Shudder*, you better not go to a beach during summertime as you might see some good looking well endowed girls wearing nothing but a bikini. :P

But heck, take a look at games like HuniePop or the Sakura games, they tend to be more closer to "porn" than most of the wallpapers with scenes of the dancing or anime girls.

I guess for now, until Steam decides to add an "Adults Only / 18+ Age Restricted" section for the Workshop (which they may never do), is to Report any items you may find offensive. Then when a Moderator reviews it, they can decide if it's ok to stay or should be removed.

Is a parent supposed to watch over their 12 year old child while they're supposedly browsing a 'safe enviorment' that steam is supposed to be?
Some games are age restricted - you'll need to enter a birth date to access. That is steam's way to enforce it and remove liability - but can they enforce it in this case? No. Its the creator responsibility to make sure they PUBLIC workshop is clean and filtered properly.

am aware of "HuniePop" and other games in that style - there's a reason I don't play/browse them...

I didn't come here with the intention of finding this content - and complain about the quality.
I complain about it being the MAJORITY of the content here without any option to filter it out of my sight.

You say its irreasonable for me to complain over people in tight clothing or barely any clothing - as if I was at the beach. But AM NOT AT THE BEACH :U so why do I need to feel as I if I am by seeing pictures of "gifted" personals?

I think quite a few people have raised this issue already, there are many threads discussing this problem.

So we should kick off with some suggestions:

• Tagging of +18
  
• User tagging (i.e people can assign popular tags so they may be filtered).
  
• Better filters.
  
• A more responsive report system.
  
• community moderators of the workshop (though they have to be openminded).

For me personally I use the 'web wallpaper type' filter which searches for only web wallpapers (which are harder for creators to make). Generally videos and gifs are the easiest meaning those catergories get the most submissions.
