What would you want to see in a sequel?

I wouldn't mind a sequel or even another game by the dev.

Same question above to you!

For a sequel I'd like to see the game to move away from level-based design to something with a more persistent world. The mechanics is perfect, I love the elemental interaction, but I'd love to see it in action in a more persistent world setting. Doesn't have to be open world (I'm thinking something more RPG-like, like Chrono Trigger), although open world would be amazing.

Streets of Rogue 2 kinda goes to a similar direction. It was level-based in SoR 1, but the dev implemented all the interesting mechanics to an open world setting in SoR 2.

Oh I'd love to see level editor, shareable through Steam Workshop perhaps. I think custom maps will greatly extend the game's longevity.

If it's still possible for Wildfire 1 it'd be even more amazing. Maybe as DLC?

Steam Workshop support would be amazing, I could finally address one of my two complaints with the game and use more than three meteor shards at a time!

We were actually 80% of the way towards having a working level editor; unfortunately, because the game is made in GameMaker, we ran into an issue where you were unable to change the size of the level after you had begun making it, which would be really annoying and require people to start their level all over again.

Funny story: developing the level editor is why Wildfire has co-op in it. While working in the level editor, I accidentally spawned two player characters, and thought - hey wouldn't co-op be a cool idea!

Tell me your other complaint!

My only other complaint is that earth is the only nonrenewable resource. You can get infinite fire from any checkpoint and infinite water from any water source, but earth? Better watch out or else you will run out. Drop an earth ball on a patch of grass? It's gone. Accidentally overlap two vine growths? It's now one vine. Use a vine trap, parachute, or transplant? I hope you accomplished whatever you were trying to do, because that earth is now gone. I wouldn't have as much of an issue if fire and water weren't available in unlimited amounts. The embrace water tutorial even made it sound like water would drain when embraced, but that didn't happen. This ended up making me exclusively use fire or water since, why risk wasting a limited resource when you have two infinite alternatives?

TLDR, either make all elements have an unlimited source, or all elements be limited.

why not do it anyway?, a bad level editor is better than none at all.

For some reasons I didn't get the notification here...

Like John Stapler said, I'd love a less-than-ideal level editor than having nothing at all. Any interest perhaps publishing the level editor as a DLC? I sure would get one in an instant.

Update would be extra nice - but in case it will take another development cost, DLC is fine to me too.

Tell you what, maybe join our discord (https://discord.com/invite/kyZEsTDg) and I can look at putting what is there of the level editor on a private Steam branch of the game, and with your feedback I can gradually work at making it function in my spare time? I can't guarantee what timeframe that will be though
