I suspect it might be something to do with how the Xbox One controller has a sensitivity setting on the trigger that the 360 controller does not, but that's the only thing I can think of that explains this.
1) This is happening on the Xbox One controller but not on the Xbox 360 controller.
2) It seems to be confusing the triggers and the analog sticks. Sometimes the triggers work as intended; sometimes they make the cursor appear all the way to the left or right.
3) When I am having that trouble, the right analog stick will only move the cursor up or down.
4) The start button also doesn't work when I am having that trouble.
I think what's going on is that something in the Xbox One controller isn't properly mapped? That's all that makes sense to me.
When you try to pick something up and it doesn't work on the Xbox One controller, is the white cursor visible at all? I suspect what's happening is your Xbox One controller is suffering from some deadzone drift and the right stick is actually tilting a bit, whereas the 360 controller doesn't have the same problem.
Another thing that would help is GIF/Video of what's happening in your Control Panel > USB Game Controllers > Properties when pressing the triggers or tilting the right stick (the graph that shows buttons and triggers being pressed)
That being said, I still have no other problems with the first controller - it works perfectly everywhere else I've ever tried - so I am at a loss.
There's something real odd with how your game is interpreting the Xbox One controller input ... sometimes. It's only with the Xbox One controller, I am only seeing it in your game, and it's definitely intermittent. It's truly bizarre.
I don't understand why this is happening, but it's definitely a problem with buttons being interpreted as different buttons.
