Transparency/Interlaced
Unless I've done something horribly wrong...Aseprite doesn't save layer transparency/give an option for interlaced when saving. Seems pointless to have the ability to change the opacity of layers and not actually be able to have it save that way. Been searching the internets for anything on this but have some up with nothing. Maybe in the future?

Still love this program though. Appreciated the colour picker update.

Hi Revlinn, sorry I'm not sure if I understood your question here. If you save a sprite in .ase format, it will save all layer information (layer names, opacity, etc.). When you save a file in other format (e.g. .png or .gif) you will lost the layer information because these files don't support layers. I didn't understand the "interlaced" part of the question, would you mind to expand that idea?

Ah, I was wrong on interlacing, just ignore that, I used incorrect terms there. In programs such as Sai and Photoshop, you can have parts that are transparent from other layers saved as pngs. For Sai, it's called 32bpp ARGB, which allows each pixel to have it's own opacity. Basically, I'm saying that other art programs allow you to have different opacity for layers still be apparent when you save as a .png. But in aseprite that doesn't happen. A layer that is less transparent than another one will look completely opaque when it's saved.
EX: I had multiple layers for soup I made, one was semi-transparent for the broth. This broth came out solid instead of being translucent when saved.

I think you might be using Indexed mode when you're expecting the RGBA behavior. You could try to convert your image to RGBA (from Sprite > Color Mode > RGB Color menu) or you can create a RGBA sprite from File > New and selecting "RGBA" color mode. In that way, when you export to a png file, it will be exported as RGBA (32bpp per pixel, with alpha/opacity per pixel).

Ah ok! I will try that! Thank you!

You are correct! I realized that the particular file I was editing was set to Indexed, which is why I was confused. Sorry about that and thank you!
