Aseprite

Im looking into making an RPG game similar to Final Fantasy 4 - 6 graphics
As the title suggests, I'm looking into making an RPG similar to FF 4 - 6 graphics. Is Aseprite a good program for an aspiring game developer to creating sprites and backgrounds similar to those games. I will be using Unreal Engine, Blueprints for the game development. (Also I have absolutely no knowledge of pixel art any good (free) pixel art tutorials would also be widely accepted)

Thankyou for your time

Aseprite is widely used in the indie community so I would say it is good for making final fantasy graphics. I think PromotionNG might be slightly better for making tilesets but I haven't compared the two.

As far as pixel art tutorials, just look on YouTube for Brandon James Greer.
Thankyou Ill look into PromotionNG for tilesets and use Aseprite for Sprites. Also thankyou for suggesting Brandon Ill follow along him <3
Aseprite is great. I am currently using it to make 48x48 images for tilesets. There are a lot of great tutorials you can find on youtube and other places for it.

Out of curiosity, any particular reason you are intending to use Unreal Engine to make a 2d RPG game?

It's not so uncommon to use 3D engines to make 2D games. I think most people do it because it makes parallax easier to implement. Or maybe he's just more comfortable with unreal?

If I remember correctly, shovel knight, hollow knight, and Ori all use 3D engines.
Thankyou guys!! Yes Im more comfortable with Unreal. Using C++ and blueprints together can make things really easy in Unreal. Also Im more looking into making graphics similar to Octopath Traveler. I love the 2D sprites on a 3D map look.

Is there any particular reason that you are using unreal? I'm in a very very early concept for my game that I want to make that's final fantasy-ish but more like xenogears. I know basically nothing about game development but it seems like godot is a good fit
