gradient tool bayer matrix no work, me confused
Im new to this software and I am trying to use bayer matrix in the gradient tool, however every time I try to select it for some reason it reverses back to no dithering whenever i touch the canvas with my mouse. Is there any reason why this could be happening?

I think this is a bug. It happens to me in the 1.3 release, but not in 1.2.40.

This is the workaround I tried.
  1. In the tool bar on the right, select the pencil tool (shortcut: B)
  2. In the context bar[aseprite.org] above the canvas, click on the Dynamics button. It's to the right of the ink type icon and to left of the pixel-perfect check box. The icon looks kinda like a bullseye.
  3. In the pop-up menu, click on the box at the intersection of Gradient and Pressure (or Gradient and Velocity).
  4. A check mark will appear and the menu will expand with more options. Select the dither pattern you want in the combo box labeled Gradient BG > FG.
  5. Return to the gradient tool. The dither pattern should now stay.

[Edit] I also tried this...

  1. Go to Edit > Preferences.
  2. In the window that opens, the General tab is selected by default.
  3. Click on the Open Configuration File link.
  4. After a file browser opens, close Aseprite.
  5. Open the aseprite.ini in a text editor.
  6. Search for the keyword "share_dynamics".
  7. Change share_dynamics from true to false.
  8. Reopen Aseprite and test the gradient dither.

You can also try turning off Same in all tools in the Dynamics pop up menu.

Today we’ve released v1.3.2, this issue should be solved. Sorry for the inconvenience.
