GIF speed too slow.
I exported a gif and for some reason the frame speed is too slow. I want to have the speed the preview is showing me (50) but it's not working. How do I fix this?
EDIT: Turns out Windows was the thing that was lagging, not the gif. Opening it in browser works. Weird

That's what I've been doing. I set the speed in milliseconds to 50 like I said.

5 milliseconds slower than 10 milliseconds :zniwseriously:

I think what they're saying is that the lower you set the number to the faster your gif is gonna be, I haven't messed with those settings in a bit but iirc what they change is the duration of a frame so a lower value=less time spent on screen for each frame

Yeah I'm trying to make the gif fast, but when it exports, it skips or something.

I have the same issue. The issue is not that I (or CarmenRider) don't know how to adjust the MS, it's that the rendering of the frames in the final gif is -completely different- from the preview, and often stuttery. For me, I'm lucky that I don't really need to render gifs and the preview window is all I need (my MS timing--which is exactly the same as the preview in Aesprite--works perfectly in my game engine), but as it is right now the export option just... doesn't make something remotely close to what Aesprite shows me in the program.

I never actually used the preview to check if the animation is working as intended.
I always used the buttons above the frames to check if the animations were playing correclty.

Do check if you didn't changed accidentally the tempo of the preview.
I saw that right clicking the play button allows you to change the animation speed.

I meant the export. playback looks fine, but the actual export end result is laggy

Modifying the "constant frame rate" with less milliseconds will give you the result you are looking for.

On the upper left side of the screen:

FRAME > CONSTANT FRAME RATE

Won't that slow down the gif?

THE LESS MILLISECONDS, THE FASTER THE ANSWER IS!
That's why computer monitors ALWAYS try to achieve LESS milliseconds.
What's faster?
ONE SECOND or ONE MILLISECOND?
TIP FROM UNCLE TREVAS:
A millisecond does not mean a thousand seconds.

Oh well I read that wrong, and yes I've turned it down some miliseconds but it still lags

The empirical science I shared is 100% correct.
You are OBVIOUSLY doing something wrong.
