do you need experience?
I'm thinking about getting it but I never really been too good with digital art in general. do you need experience with pixel art before diving into this?

or can this help someone who's totally new to pixel art and never really done it before, but is interested in it?

I barely had experience (and with barely I mean I only tried it twice) making pixel arts before installing Aseprite, this image[preview.redd.it] shows how my works looked like before. or this one too

Nowadays, 2 years later, I can reach this kind of artworks

So, to answer your question, no, you don't need experience to start using Aseprite, just keep in mind that, like all kinds of art, it'll be a long journey, and you won't get better in just a night. It's a long process where it might seem like you're not improving (I felt that for almost an entire year), but I'd say it's worth it for the results.

Also, you can try checking out some videos from other pixel artists to see how they work in their pieces, their tips, and how they reach the end result. I personally recommend Brandon James Greer for tips and the process of his work, MortMort for his tutorials and tips on both aseprite and pixel art, and AdamCYounis for his lenghty-but very useful guides across different topics in pixel art.

Thank you, that is quite the difference in quality. I know it won’t be an overnight thing and I don’t expect it to be. I feel like this is something I can do whenever I’m not doing anything else and hopefully make something out of it.

I’ll consider getting this product even more then, thank you

You absolutely can and should get it. I am on the same journey as you, and barely got any experience in any kind of art, digital or not. Just watch some tutorials on youtube and get at it!

Not really. But you will need to practice with the toolset alot and maybe watch some videos if you want a nice workflow. Expect all your early works to take a chunk of time because of this. And they might suck. But don't kick urself. It is how you get better.

pixel art is one of the first things I super duper enjoyed doing for others on the internet. It's really cool and you can also easily edit pixel art you find or buy (I used to buy it using in game tokens in a game where people offered pixel petz) to learn new things!

To use drawing and animation tools you basically need a vocation for art.
If you've never drawn in your life, you've never been interested, you won't learn from day to night.
Drawings and animations will need to come out of your head and your hands.
