Picking colors from other window (Question)
Hey I usually use PureRef to draw and use references. But sometimes I like to use the color of whatever im using for inspiration. PureRef is always on top and for some reason doesn't work with aseprite nor pick colors from the images on pureref, any help in this matter? :(

Just tested it since I use PureRef myself, and it's working. Even with "Always on Top" enabled

Can you explain better? You wish to pick a color from the desktop using color picker of aseprite?

I wish to pick a certain color using an app that's always on top

Currently it's not possible and I don't think it will ever be. I also don't know any art program which can do this system-wide. But in case you are using windows, you could use "Microsoft PowerToys" for this task for now.

To OP and Falli, You can actually do it, but only in the Aseprite v1.3 beta, to do so, you must press the color square below the color sliders/spectrums at the left side, and while you keep holding it, you drag the mouse to the desktop or any window at the side, and it will pick the colors from it. It's a bit weird to do so, but it's possible.

Here's a quick twitter video from the official Aseprite account showing how its done: https://twitter.com/aseprite/status/1397596285587410956

This is just a shot in the dark, but it may have to do with whether you're running Aseprite or PureRef in administrator mode.

Worth a try for the OP. But also just tested every combination with or without administrator. Everything works how it should, could pick the color every time.
