Changing transparent color from gray?
I just got done putting together a palette, only to realize when I opened Aseprite that one of my grays is the exact same as the gray stand-in color for the transparent background.

How do I change what color represents transparent? Or is there a way to add in a checkered background or something that doesn't scale, like in Gimp?

While in Aseprite, go to Edit > Preferences, and there go to Background. While you're in there, you will see 2 colors in "Checked Background", click in the color you want to change, and change it to another color like you would normally do in Aseprite. When you're done, click in "Apply", and that color of the background should be changed to the color you picked!

Click the colour on the palette with your middle mouse button. You can also change it via the Sprite > Properties menu.
Sorry, I don't know if I'm being clear--I don't want to change any of the actual colors in my palette, I want to change the gray color that's used to represent the transparent background.

I can't see what I'm painting with my gray color because it's the exact same as the gray that the transparent background displays. In Gimp, for instance, transparency is represented by a grid of two different alternating grays.
