Transparency issue pasting into Aseprite

Hello, I'm experiencing a problem when trying to paste a selection from Affinity Photo into Aseprite. I copy a layer selection, paste into Aseprite (RGB doc) and it fills any transparency from that selection with white color. Is this normal?

I second this issue: although the selection comes with black colour, not white, instead of transparency!

Any fixes for this? I'm encountering the same issue pasting from Paint Tool SAI or Paint.NET. Any transparency data is lost when pasting into Aseprite.

Hi there! Do the transparency stay if you copy & paste between Paint Tool SAI <-> Paint.NET? What happen with Chrome images? Can you copy an image in Chrome and paste it into those tools?

Copying in Chrome and pasting in Paint.NET works OK.
Copying in SAI and pasting in Paint.NET works OK.

Copying in Paint.NET and pasting in SAI loses transparency data.
Copying in Chrome and pasting in SAI loses transparency data.

Copying in Paint.NET and pasting in Aseprite loses transparency data.
Copying in SAI and pasting in Aseprite loses transparency data.
Copying in Chrome and pasting in Aseprite loses transparency data.

All of these tests are on Windows 8; Paint.NET 4.2.13, Paint Tool SAI 1.2.5, Aseprite 1.2.23-x64, Chrome 84.0.4147.105 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hi poobslag, I'll test Paint.NET and SAI today, but at the moment can you check copying an image from Chrome with alpha ( e.g. right-click and Copy Image here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/47/PNG_transparency_demonstration_1.png ) and then creating a new RGB sprite on Aseprite and pasting it? Because the transparency data shouldn't be lost in those cases.

OK, I was able to reproduce some issues. Copying and pasting from/to Paint.NET will be fixed, but the Affinity Photo case is harder to solve (not sure how Paint.NET makes it work, I tried to use png as a clipboard format but still cannot make it work).

Hope to have something working for the next release.

Aseprite v1.2.24 is available, and now we should be able to copy & paste images to/from Affinity Photo and Paint.NET with alpha channel.
