Aseprite

Aseprite

Aseprite on Ubuntu
I bought Aseprite some time ago, after using an old version for over a year. Since it's the best sprite/animation editor out there (in my opinion), i installed it on my 7 years old laptop, which has Ubuntu on it, to use it when i'm far from home. The only problem is that it seems not to be DRM- free. In other words it requires an instance of steam running in order to stay opened. This would not be a problem for a normal computer, but for my 1gb ram toshiba it's a hell of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Any type of useful information is appreciated

Have you tried via a Wine install of Steam? I haven't tried that personally, but I suspect aseprite should work in that setup.

Although with only 1GB of Ram, you will be lucky if anything works :X
I hope you aren't using Gnome 3 or KDE or anything like that. Might be able to save some ram by using dwm or xmonad or i3 or awesome wm.

haha i am actually using xubuntu, which is pretty lightweight as an OS, and doesn't use unity which kills off every old computer in the world. However, thank you for your response, i don't know what Wine is, but i'll figure that out
