Mac game crashes on Boot

I've been playing the game on my imac happily for a while now. When I launched today, the game hung on the boot screen for a long time so I force quit and relaunced. Now it "unexpectedly quits" everytime I try to open it. Please help!

First of all, please let's make sure that the game has access to your Mac. To give the game access to your Mac, please follow the steps below:

• Open your Apple menu > 'System Preferences'
  
• Click 'Security & Privacy'
  
• Click 'Privacy'
  
• Click 'Accessibility'
  
• Select the tickbox next to Golf With Your Friends.

Then save the change and attempt to launch the game

Hi,

I'm having the same issue as OP, but 'Accessibility' isn't showing a listing for 'Golf With Your Friends' at all.

I've only just purchased the game and have never played it on this or any other device.

Any advice?

Specs below:

Let's try to check your game installation to make sure that there are no corrupted files causing the problem. To do this:

1. Right-click the game in your library
   
2. Go to 'Properties'
   
3. Go to the local files tab
   
4. Click 'Verify integrity of game files...'

Thanks so much for getting back to us and giving those steps a shot!

Could you try removing any in-game save data and see if the game works afterwards? It seems like it's getting stuck when it's loading any saved data, so this might help sort things out.

You can do this by right-clicking the application and selecting "Show Package Contents." This will take you to the game’s folder, where you should find a PlayerPrefs folder that you can go ahead and delete.

Don’t worry—you won’t lose any items since they’re linked to your Steam Inventory, not the game itself!

Thanks so much for sharing the log with us!

I wanted to follow up on the Accessibility permissions in your 'Security & Privacy' settings. I noticed you mentioned that Golf With Your Friends isn’t listed for you to check off. Have you tried adding it using the '+' icon?

The apps you see there are the ones that have specifically asked for accessibility access, but you can actually grant this access to any app on your system—even if it’s not listed! Just click that plus button at the bottom of the pane and select the app you’d like to add.

Could you give that a shot and try adding GWYF manually? Then follow the steps we discussed earlier.

I am still getting it drop out after all the initial start up screens.

Can you please try using something such as Boot Camp to see if the title will launch using Windows?
You can use the Apple guide here[support.apple.com] for help on how to do this.
Then when booted in Windows, attempt to launch the game and let us know the outcome.

It looks like the crash report points to a graphics-related issue within the Unity engine, which can sometimes happen on Macs with older GPUs or drivers.

As a quick workaround, you can try running the game with OpenGL by following these steps:

1. Open Steam and head to your Library.
   
2. Right-click on Golf With Your Friends and select Properties.
   
3. Under the General tab, find Launch Options and enter this command:

   -force-glcore

4. Close the Properties window and give the game another go!
