Have the devs ever played (mini) golf in their entire lifes?
I can't believe they'd make a mini golf game and forget the literally most important part of mini golf - turns. Everyone in this game plays at the same time on the same field. It's such a dumb concept for a coop game since watching your friends is not only a huge part of the fun but also a huge part of the strategy.

For explanation there's the principle of "Honors" and "Away" in golf. On a tee shot the player with the best score on the previous hole gets "honors" and tees off first. Obviously this gives valuable strategical information to the players who did worse before allowing an advantage to catch up. After the tee shot the player farthest from the hole plays next. This is called being "away". It applies to every stroke until the ball is holed.

This is partially adapted to minigolf with the best player starting on the next hole and playing until the ball is holed or out of strikes. In official matches the farthest player goes first rule is still standard!

I can't believe you'd write all this and forget to consider the differences between a game of (mini) golf in person and a computer game that is played, more often than not, not only by a bunch of random people but also by more in one round than 3-4 friends hanging out. The second part might not be as relevant anymore as the numbers aren't what they once were... but since the current round/game play options haven't changed since 201?, or when you could fill a lobby with 8-12 players somewhat easily, I'll keep that in.

While I agree that having the option to play as you mentioned might be 'nice to have', with friends or people you know, this all sounds less and less fun as soon as you pack 10+ randos into a lobby and hope this won't devolve into the equivalent of a group of primates flinging ♥♥♥♥ everywhere or search for way to grief or troll the other players.
It's bad enough with people hosting lobbies going afk letting people stew, or players in the round not playing forcing you to wait for the round time to end. Now imagine you can't play until the player furthest away from the hole makes their move - and they won't because reading the chat full of frustrated people is more fun than playing the game. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with your game is more fun than playing it actually. To paraphrase Goonswarm in EVE Online: "We're not here to ruin THE game, we're here to ruin YOUR game."

If little Timmy needs to take a ♥♥♥♥ while playing in "Real Life" his friends will find a way to entertain themselves for a couple of minutes, when a mentally 12 year old edgelord thinks it's funny to keep you, and every other player, waiting 2-3+ minutes on each and every hole you'll loose any interest in the game real fast.

tl;dr: This is a "party game", not a simulation.

How do I unsubscribe from your blog? Don't care, didn't ask and go get some friends although that might be difficult for an EVE player.

Jokes aside; there's no excuse not to add such a basic option aside from incredible laziness. We're not even talking about a large investment of time every junior dev could be tasked with it. So no it wouldn't be just nice to have it's utterly pathetic that it's not yet an option.

No idea what windmills you fight in the rest of your posts but have fun.

Congratulations.
Once again directly to the point so you don't get distracted: Rules that work great, or are necessary because 12 people trying to play all at once is kinda hard, on a Mini Golf course with friends don't necessarily translate great to a multiplayer game. Implementing those rules isn't what's hard, making sure that they can't be abused to grief others is. Because guess what - people that don't have fun stop playing the game, won't recommend it anyone, and pretty soon you'd have just another dead game.

Anyway, T17 won't improve anything here, it will never be an option, and I'd be surprised if GWYF2 won't be a carbon copy rules/game settings wise as this game has sold enough units to show them that it's "good enough".

You are in dire need of friends my man if you can't fathom the idea of having turns and alternatively adding a timer or AFK kick to them. There is nothing difficult or complex here - although I assume such a concept might seem complex for you.
And you are in a dire need of a round or two with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in randoms... anyway, while you're a blast to debate with, specially when you're counter arguments are so skillfully combined with playground insults, this is goodbye. Have a nice life.

Why do you come to the forums if you are gonna be rude to everyone?

Why do you feel the need to visit a thread you have nothing to contribute to?

Don't start a thread on a public forum if you are gonna be rude to everyone

You could have just simply refunded the game, but you choose to cone fo forums instead

Yeah it's pretty funny with OP starting a pointless whine thread, then complaining about the responses.

Refund the game and leave a bad review, then move on.
very very late to this. op is right. it's stupid that this isn't in the game, and the people giving negative replies are stupid and contribute nothing - this was good feedback and something that should so obviously be in the game...... the fact that some rando was made to cry by playing in a pub lobby is completely irrelevant
