Map Editor: Changing Spawn Point Number
Can I change the spawn point number in the map editor? E.g. changing spawn 2 to spawn 1?

Yes, you can do this a couple of different ways. If you've just started building your course, and only have a few spawn points on your map, it might be easier to just delete the spawns and start over. Or, if they're fairly close together, you can drag them to where you want.

I'm guessing you're asking this because the spawn points keep changing as you open and close the editor. This has been happening for months, and apparently Team 17 has no interest in fixing it. Also broken is the Retry Shot Mode. Because of these two issues, I've started to place only one spawn point at a time while building maps. As I build holes, I'll delete the spawn or move it to the next new hole. Once I get all 18 holes built, I'll place all the spawns where they need to be. After you have 18 spawns placed, the order won't change (in my experience) after opening and closing the editor. It helps to place hole number signs on each hole as you build them to keep track of their position.

No, I asked because I copied my basic course layout for all 18 holes, and messed up the first spawn. But the spawns are already placed inside of pipes, so reaching them is a pain :D Idk who thought that a freecam should collide with objects in a level editor...

If you're willing to copy/paste stuff (as in the x/y/z coords of the existing spawn points) around in a text editor - that would be an option. Thinking about it, it might even possible to just edit the spawn number in there and leave the coords alone... but that's something I haven't actually tried.

While not specially written for your potential use-case, this should include everything you need: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2506632720
Happened the same to me , but the interesting thing is that it doesn't happen in every map.

this one for example had the issue that spawn order where changing all the time. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3417017452

My understanding is that if you try the map not from the 1st spawn, it renames the hole you are testing as first one, and then scrambles up all the other ones.

my solution was to delete all of them and place the signs to remind myself which one had which number, and then re-add at the end all the spawns as last thing.

hope it helps.

I used to do this until I got sick of it. So now you can just use the tool I created above and fix it in 1 minute instead of having to worry about your course being subtly broken because of introduced small differences when recreating spawn points.
