Sorry you are going through this.
Are you still having issues?
Does anyone else have this?
Ill investigate further.
After a while I managed to play a few games with somebody.
I am at work at the moment, but I will try again soon and let you know if it still works well now.
I am still having issues. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it does not. Today I was able to play 4 games with a buddy (loads of fun btw :D :D ) and then all of a sudden I got disconnected and couldn't connect anymore (whilst my connection was still OK )...
I personally dont know of anyone else currently having the same issues.
If I can press some kind of debug key combo to send you a memory dump let me know.
Kind regards,
Thanks for investigating!
Thanks for the update, sorry you are still having this issue.
I have added a connection status text on the bottom left of the menu in the next update. Hopefully we can get some information from that.

Yes i noticed! thats a great improvement!
I will observe and deduct, and will keep you posted on the exact situation that causes it to occur when i find out
So I am still having connection problems regularly.
It seems to happen most of the time when I go into host or join .. then back to the main menu...
It then loses connection, and cannot connect anymore for a long time, even if I reboot my system. Its like the server locks me out for X minutes.
Perhaps I can click somewhere to view more connection details / or enable a connection logger for you?
Sorry you are still having this issue and sorry for the inconvenience.
The only things that I can suggest are to make sure that your firewall or anti-virus is not blocking the game, make sure your router firmware is up to date and also verify the game files in steam.
You can send the output.log file found in Steam\steamapps\common\Golf With Friends\Golf With Friends_Data to Blacklightinteractive@hotmail.com
Make sure that you only send the output file after you get this disconnection or can’t connect.
There might be a chance there is something on there that will tell us a little bit more.
Sorry once again. Hopefully we can find what’s creating this issue.
my firewall is OK as is my router my provider is Virgin media if that help do not know if any of the others are also using the same provider.
Sorry you are having this issue.
Have you allowed the program through your firewall?
You cant take steps to do so here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/communicate-through-windows-firewall#1TC=windows-7
Take a look at our troubleshooting guide if you havn't already : http://steamcommunity.com/app/431240/discussions/0/371918937289433613/
Have you tried the game on any other systems by anychance (On the same network)?
Some people use a VPN to get around it. You shouldn't need to do this but im still not sure whats causing this or why its happening.
I did some research and couldnt find anything.
I do know more unity games have had very very similar multiplayer issues in the beginning.
"Golf with your friends" and "Rocket League" too...
Perhaps you can add some extra debug info somewhere?
I remember the guy(s) that make Golf with friends put some extra info there and it was quite helpful in debugging the problem.
For example, now that me and my friends dont even see eachtothers servers, it might be useful to have some kind of indication of what is causing it.
Also, if you'd like to debug some stuff using my system, I'd be happy to provide remote control access for you.
Kind regards!
edit: ps. didnt try vpn yet, but as you stated, this should not be necessary and your game is so awesome it should always work bugfree online because it will attract more people to play it - lets make it happen
We are the guys who make Golf With Your Friends lol.
We use a system called Photon Cloud, ill try get in contact with them and see if they have any idea why this is happening.
