Game Crashing. Disable Steam Overlay

Temp workaround:

If you are suffering from random game and steam crashes please disable steam overlay.

Right-click Golf With Friends in your steam library and select Properties.
Uncheck "Enable steam overlay"

Please post below if this does or does not work for you.
We are working hard to fix anything major.

You can also try the experimental build under the BETAs tab in the games properties.

Hi, I have tried both workarounds but my game still crashes on the launch screen of any match i join

The last resort is to send me your output.log from Steam\steamapps\common\Golf With Friends\Golf With Friends_Data to [e-mail]

Ill see if I can find anything, if not, im not sure what to try next.

Thanks for sending that in. I can't find anywhere that the game has crashed.
You said it was a system crash, do you get any errors for driver crashes? or any other information at all?

Also are your drivers and everything upto date?
Using a laptop?
Integrated or dedicated graphics?

i didnt get anything at all and cant find any log, all that happens is it freezes upon loading and thats it until i hard reset my pc. (desktop) i cant even tab out or force close the game.
Running Windows 10 64bit
CPU 4790k
GPU Sapphire r9 290 4gb running 16.1.1 crimson driver
32gb 2133mhz ddr3 ram
Maximus hero 7 motherboard with latest BIOS

You are probably as stumped as me i cant work out whats causing it.

Yeah, This is the only case I know of that is crashing your whole system.
Unfortunantly im not a computer tech. Ill keep any eye out, but Im not sure If I can help you.

So I did try the disable the overlay but it still crashes its just the game not anything else idk why its doing this because my PC despite being a tad bit old runs games perfectly fine

What should I do if the game doesn't even want to launch? I already tried re-downloading and it was working fine before the update.

Hey guys, Try running the game with DirectX 9 and allowing it through your firewall and antivirus.
Maybe try disabling your antivirus and see if that helps.

And if I am using Mac with the latest OS? The game will go to the unity input/quality settings box, but after pressing the play button the game gets stuck for a few minutes until it crashes.
