The complaint is justified. Even with their price raises which is understandable, 9 dollars for one course is extremely overpriced. I would have even scoffed at $4.99, but ultimately even that price would have been doable. $8.99 for one course? Not sure what they're smoking.
It like people forget that real people that need to eat and pay bills are working on this..
ill bet youre one of those kind of people who buy cod coins or micro transactions and pay to win kind of stuff.
agreed with op. 8.99 too much. and the fact that youre raising prices on things is alright since it was already super cheap but 8.99 is way too much for one course. looks like its back to golf it! game instead
I more so like to pay people for their effort, like it or not inflation is affecting all industries, i just went to a square boys i went to in highschool for a slice of pizza, it was 4.90 a slice where as in highschool it was 2.50.
Things cost more these days so people do need to make more money to afford to live like jesus some of you guys have not experienced the real world and it shows.
We get it, you enjoy the taste of your corporate overlord's boots and have no problem being price gouged for very little content.
Imagine actually paying 2.50 for a slice of pizza, nevermind 4.90. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lol. Once a sucker, always a sucker.
Several maps were added for free up until 2020.
Then paid maps in 2022-2023 (3$ USD for 18 holes, 2$ for 9 holes).
Then barely a year later it's 9$ for 18 hole maps (300% increase)? At this rate, how much is the next map gonna cost?
The ♥♥♥♥ are you smoking? Or are you simply misinformed?
Firstly: Team17, who aren't just the publisher but by now also the developer, are a publicly traded company. They've bought the whole IP in 2020 for 13 or so million GBP from Blacklight Interactive. BLI are no longer involved in the making of this game. T17 like to act like the scruffy little underdog indie dev, but they absolutely aren't... Indie devs usually don't buy up IPs.
Secondly: Don't compare prices for 'Actual Golf' with 'Mini Golf', you would'd pay Formula One prices for a Go Kart track, or would you? Btw. For the price they're asking I could play 1½-2 rounds as an adult on a local Mini Gold course. That's in Vienna, really not the cheapest city, and not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, Idaho.
Sure i guess i am a sucker for buying a slice of pizza for 4.90 because i was on lunch break and it was the nearest place, i should have just ate some grass and dirt for lunch instead!
Do i think some things in games are overpriced now? sure, but for a game where you can join someone else that owns the DLC, can invite friends to play the game if they don't own it even, there is plenty of ways for people to experience it for free even but sure 8.99 is crazy for 18 holes the 9 holes are going up to 4.99
But alrighty ill go lick some more boots while people live in fantasy land where things will never cost more.
