Or crazy golf with friends
We cannot discuss it in great detail. But this was the best way for us to hold on to the following and reputation that we have created.
Keeping the name as close to the original will allow searches for our game and youtube creators to remain consistent.
We also dont need to change a lot and cause us to fall behind in development.
We would have loved to keep the name, it just wasnt worth it.
I personally think its no biggie, what kind of gamer holds a game's merit in it's name?
Yeah, in the end we just need to keep moving forward.
The content of the game has not changed and will only get better.
And the abbreviation of the name was not very beautiful. It was terrible to speak out and always remembered me of a former US-president.
But you could do nice variations of the name like "Golf without Friends" or "Golf with Me".
The new name is a little bit bulky, but variations work great on this name too, like "Golf with your Mother".
And "gwyf" is a far better abbreviation in my opinion. Easy to speak. Rememberable. No confusion with "qwop" or similar things. And it is memeable.
"Do you want to gwyf with me?"
"The gwyf is strong in this one."

Yeah we had this discussion with our lawyers, it will be 50 years and games will need to be called Golf156XX360Noscope just to trademark anything. I think Taylor swift trade marked a year and some other stuff.
Like how do you trade mark a year?
Lol...really? seriously? over a simple name change that adds one extra word.
It's a potential lawsuit devs are trying to avoid so give them a freakin break...geez...so lame.
