Unlockables

I am sorry if asked before, we hav a group of us that just start playing. I am wondering about the unlockables, Hats more than anything else but how do you unlock them?

Is there like a challenge tracker or something?

Also I have seen where you can "Buy" hats on Steam, I am guessing that is for PC only? (We are playing on Xbox)

The hats, trails and floaties are unlocked by playing the game. Three items can be unlocked per day. According to the devs items are unlocked after either 45 minutes of play or after the completion of a course. So you only have to play the game to unlock them (but only three random items per day). Some items are rarer than others and so your chances of getting them are smaller.
Not sure about the Xbox question, but I'd think it goes for all platforms(?) [answer given by Flash Hound below].

Unfortunately, the PC version is the only platform of the game where you can buy hats, trails & floaties because of the Steam workshop that's been in place since early access. There's no method that I'm aware of where you can buy the items on Xbox, Nintendo Switch & PS4 versions of the game.

The only tracker that's on the Xbox version is the achievement tracker that's built into the Xbox system which can be enabled when launching the Xbox menu.
