Cannot get Xbox One gamepad to work

Hello, my Xbox one game controller doesn’t seem to work as default with this game.

I see when looking at options that Golf With Friends Supports a gamepad controller and if you want you can configure the buttons however only the direction (up/down/left/right) will work.

None of the action buttons work for me.

I’m not looking to play this game using a mouse.

Any advise?

have you tried checking out steam controller settings?

should be able to get to the options from big picture mode.

Yes, on big picture mode it shows a keyboard icon, but if you go to options/settings on the game it has a gamepad option with all the buttons for Xbox one set to all the actions (which you can configure) it’s just that it doesn’t appear to work for me except for the direction joystick part of the pad.

I’ve worked out that RB seems to act like A at least to progress as ‘continue’ but then in order to aim you have to hold down RT and then push the lower right side joystick forward. This is so difficult to use you would be better off using a mouse.

Is this normal for a game that claims to have gamepad control?

Is there a way to configure it so that my left side top joystick controls the aim line direction and holding down the A button (or any other right side button) controls the power of the shot?
