Golf With Your Friends vs. Golf It!
Title.

They both seem the same. Which one is better, and why do you think so? Also, do you own both of them or just one?

The putting mechanic in this game is miles better than Golf It, that's my main reason why I think GWYF is better than Golf It.

Yeah, Golf It! putting feels uncomfortable and unprecise, though I barely have any experience with it. Golf with your friends controls feels much more straightforward.
As I posted in a thread from Golf It forums, regarding this exact same topic:

That said, I think both games have their merit.

After playing a LOT of GWYF, someone in my group of friends bought Golf It for each of us since it had Workshop (and thus a lot more content).
The first and most impactful difference (imo) that I noticed was a difference in controls.

GWYF - You click-and-drag to fill a power meter, then release and the putter hits the ball with that desired amount of force. **Note: You can change direction while click-and-drag to adjust the direction of the shot while simultaneously adjusting power.

Golf It! - Use LMB to engage the putter, then actively control the putter with your mouse.. you pull your mouse back and push/flick it forward with the desired amount of force. It feels a little more like you're playing mini golf, but it's clearly not as easy to control. This can be both a positive and a negative feature, depending on your point of view. **Note: when the putter is engaged, you cannot adjust the direction of your shot. RMB will disengage the putter without hitting the ball, if you wish to adjust your aim.

The change in controls was very jarring at first, and unpleasant. But by the end of my first 18 holes, I was used to it. By the end of the second or third course, I was enjoying it.

Another thing to note: GWYF seems to have a lot more options in regard to ball customization. Hats and trails, to be specific.

Personally, I like both games and I plan to continue playing each of them. Admittedly, I like GWYF more despite not yet having Workshop, and I play it a *LOT* more often. But it may be because I played it game first (or partially due to that).

Though I own both, Golf It was a gift, and I don't think I'd ever have bought it with my own money.
I also don't really like any of the ball customizations from Golf It, either. To me they look cheesy.. or cartoony? I dunno, I just don't really like them.

After playing about 6 hours of GWYF and getting bored with the lack of courses, my friends and I purchased Golf It, mainly because of the Workshop. We played for about an hour and all refunded it. The putting in Golf It makes the game not fun because it feels extremely inconsistant when it comes to applying the proper power.

It's also something to mention that GWYF loads up in a few seconds, while Golf It takes about a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hour to load.
I realize this is something different for everyone based on hardware and software, but there's that.

I know it's been nearly three years but I've been struggling to decide which one to get, but it looks like GWYF is what more people like for its more 'arcade fun' style compared to the slightly more realistic controls and physics etc in Golf It. A big one-up for Golf It before was the custom courses but I think GWYF has them too now so yeah, I think I made my decision now.

Yup, I did buy GWYF in the end

Golf It! Was the game I HAD te refund. It's a failed attempt at creating a golf game in an unoptimized U4E editor. I have no more words for this, but every one his own opinion.
