Game always opens with 640 x 480 resolution
I'm not sure if this is specific to the game or the way steam launches it... But whenever I run GWYF, it automatically changes the desktop resolution to 640 x 480 (you can see the desktop/icons enlarge for a split second before the game goes full screen), and it's not possible to change the resolution in the settings - the options are there but have no effect. On exiting the game the desktop resolution reverts back to the original. I'm using a 4K monitor, could that have anything to do with it?

There is a work around, ALT+TAB out of the game to the desktop, change the resolution and return. Then amending the resolution setting in game works fine.. But it's a really annoying thing to do every time!

Does anyone know why it won't open with my native desktop resolution?

Hmm have you got it set to 640 x 480 under the compatibility tab when you right click the game exe and goto properties?

You can hold Alt on launch to set the resolution.

I'm delighted to say I've figured it out. I do appreciate the response though, I see you get back to everybody on here so you're obviously a BLOODY GOOD BLOKE! This wasn't even a fault with your game, so I'm sorry to waste your time... I found out it was happening with other games too.

But for those interested it was the steam overlay. Under the game properties I un-ticked "Enable steam overlay when in-game". Problem solved.

You're doing a great job, I'm patiently waiting until the day you achieve true local multi-player with controllers... the party game crown from Wii golf is yours to take! Those were the days... :)

Hi, I'm having this same problem, except on a mac, and I've tried everything I can think of to fix it with no luck. Have been playing just fine for a long time. Not sure whats's going on. Please help!

No idea what you've tried and/or though of so I'll just ask: Did you try command line arguments? At least on Windows it pretty much always helps with this kind of problem.

Something like "-screen-height 1080 -screen-width 1920" should do the trick.
