Being stealthy is so broken.
I was enjoying this game when I first got it. I am starting to notice flaws though that are just ruining my immersion. They all have to do with stealth.

1) You cant move bodies. I thought that sucked, but I thought "W/e I can forgive them on that".

2) Not only are you unable to move bodies, but for some reason if an enemy finds a body, every person on the map knows exactly where you are even if you are hiding in the deepest, darkest corner on the map a mile away from the person you killed.

3) Silenced weapons are pointless. If I shoot an enemy from across the map with my silenced pistol, and he doesnt die, he and all his friends know exactly where I am and begin shooting back.

Is there any mods or something that improves the stealth mechanics in this game?

I agree with the move body thing, but the enemy always have a rotine to do or just dont move and you can hide the body in the shadows, they dont see in this way. the silent weapons work, if you kill some one and nobosy see it, if you kill and some one see they will shot. I use all the time the pistol, but some times, the bullet througt the body and hit the wall, so this happen, every one will hear. Whe use the knief, nobody hear a thing. But when you are spot, they shout to every one, so every enemy take their guns, but if you are not spot, but the enemy see some dead body, they will get the guns, but wont fired in you, util someone spot you. alredy happen to me.

It's not broken, it's just very old-fashioned. Stealth games today forgive you a lot of mistakes. This one does not.

yes. but if you dont make mistake, it very easy to pass the lvls without been spot

IMO the reason I hate this game is this:
1: Filter are useless to the gameplay of the game, might as well make an unlimited one to put on but it reduces your max health by 40% while on.
2: Shooting any weapon just feels wierd, its just the recoil, the sound etc.
3: The thing when you press m should just be replaced by a radar.
4: Carrying on from 1 lots of people have to redo 1 hour of gameplay due to the stupid filters. just poor design.
When I'm bored and looking for a single player game to play, it will be a mod like cry of fear, but not this.

So true. To be frank, being able to move bodies is the wussies way of beating a stealth game, because realistically moving a body would be pointless because their bleeding. Stealthy, silenced weapons are very much 1 shot kills as long as you consistently pull off knife throws or headshot / neck shots. Infact, if you shoot a soldier in the helmet they have a chance to survive and it will make noise, alerting them all to your position, however a neck shot will kill them instantly and make no noise.

Stealth is completely viable as long as you're not stupid about it.

So you hate this game because it is hard is the gist of your statements.

The filter is not useless. you have to use it very good. to kill in one shot. If the bullet pass the body and hit the wall making noisy, if the guy is dead, the noisy will do nothing, if some one hear it, the enemy will be alert for some time, but will not alert anyone. If some one be alert, or se you, if you are quikly and kill the spoter, nothing will happen.
The game gives chance to do it right, just dont expect to do like rambo and no body notice.

But if you like to do shouter like CoD, the game gives you chance to do it, giving you to armors to bought in armory city, steath armor and heavy armor. buy the heavy armor and go. but you need to be good in this, kill and dont waste you armor... if is hard, just low the dificulty.

I guess you've been using wrong kinds of stealth weapons, only throwing knives and Helsing arrows would do. You won't get a Helsing rifle until the end of Dead City 1 btw. Radar? Are we some kind of Skyrim wizards with Detect Life spell on? Go buy a console. Those filters, pumps and battery chargers look great and atmosphere matters sometimes. These days most of the games are $60 heartless console crap for the ignorant kiddies y'know

I lol'd at the radar comment, realistically speaking, in a post-apocalyptic world like this, I think having a map in a journal is far more viable than attaching a radar :P Like this game so far.

I can agree on some points, but this is Metro 2033. and not Hitman: Forgiveness.

Stealth is supposed to be difficult, and so is running in with your guns blazing (There is mostly an enemy and his grandma in every room). You get to choose, the sometimes way, and not a single spare bullet, or more thinking and sneaking, but being rewarded with every damn resource on the map.

The only issues I have with stealth, are the bugs and the instant god-mode radar on every enemy if you get caught. I get that the metro dwellers are vary and careful, but sometimes things get ridiculous.

Though, If you manage to get through some of the extremely unforgiving stealth sections you will feel like the awesome lord of Moscow.

I used to sneak for the most part of the game until the last levels (had missed the sneak armor in armory city, so i went for heavy. That plus the type of enemies in the last levels......bye bye sneaky mister). I often took my time, checking on the guards routines and i explored almost every corner of the maps (weird that i missed the sneak armor though -.-). Unluckily the game does not encourage you to go for exploration, because of the "limited" sources of filters for your gas mask. I guess it wouldn't have been a problem, if i hadn't experienced a few bugs with the gas masks (changing a gas mask reduced the time left by nearly half two times) and because i had the "silly" thought, that one could buy filters in Polis (which is supposed to be the biggest station out there), alas you cannot, so when i reached the library i was left with one filter. I did make it to the second level of the library, where you encounter your first librarian, but as it looked me in the eyes, i fainted -.- . Had to reload an earlier save and rush through the library, which i personally don't find very appealing. Never liked time-critical missions ;). But okay, if it weren't for the bugs and for the lack of filters you could buy in Polis, it would have been no problem. ....Anyways, i learned my lesson and at the end of the game i believe i must have had around 25 mins of filters left =D. As for the lack of possibility to hide bodies, yes it bothered me too. Of course they bleed and enemies could see the blood, if it's well lit, but if it's dark and gloomy they might overlook it, where they definitely would see a body. The Thief-series is a good example how it can be done. If you kill an enemy who bleeds, the guards might see the blood and would be on alert, but it is harder for them to see as a dead body.

I like that you can sneak in the game, and with most trials being a success. However, in one instance specifically I went in for a stealth kill with the throwing knives. I was sneaking up behind one of the Nazis on patrol and went for the quick slice and dice of the melee form of the throwing knives. When he died, the whole station went on alert and I was rushed in on from both sides. Something should also be said for silenced weapons. I understand the reality of a suppressor is to discharge the gases, “efficiently” and so you’re still left with a loud, but muted sound of what could be two pieces of wood being slapped together. One shot with a resulted one kill should not warrant every nearby person on high alert, but would cause some sort of investigation. In the case of this game, if you fire one round the spot lights are on you, just waiting for you to pop your head out. Otherwise, this was a great game and I’m impressed to see something of this quality come out of the Ukraine!
heh stealth is broken agreed, i'd use throwing knives for stealth and also the Hellsing is the superior stealth weapon, dont bother with the VsV or silenced revolver variants, they always make a sound when they die, with the hellsing it is a bit safer, again in last light they are fixing this broken stealth system, nonetheless an amazing game that i would play through over an infinite number of times, i just find it enjoyable.

*Spoilers*

At the Fascist outpost in the chapter Black Station I actually managed to pull off some nice stealth kills with my beloved silenced revolver.
After stealthing through the whole building I was left with only three guys moving around a campfire, which I had to take out guns blazing.
I popped the first one in the head with my revolver, and to my surprise the others didn't even flinch. I managed to kill the second one with a headshot too, and when they were all dead they hadn't even sounded the alarm.

Felt so good actually putting the silencer to good use. Who needs realism when you've got a silent .44 sidearm? :D
