Download Physx driver here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/physx/physx-9-23-1019-driver/
Install and reboot.
Regladess if Nvidia, AMD or Intel.

This was IMMENSELY helpful, thank you. All I had to do was install it and restart my computer. It seems to run alright on the lowest settings, but I've yet to test it extensively enough to tell for sure. Anyway... Thanks again.

I had this problem for about 2 min. Quick search through Metro 2033 Steam forum & this is the first thing that popped up.

Installed, restarted, and now playing.

Reinstall the Physx driver first. Run as administrator.
