Biomass Level Impossible to complete?

At this point I don't have enough ammo to fight off the Amoeba and their spawners, and trying to melee them does nothing. Will I have to restart from earlier missions and grind out to do this?

Try restarting the level, or the level before, and pick up more ammo. There's a lot of ak ammo around.
Did you sell off all your ammo throughout the game or something? You should have tons by this point.

No, bought ammo throughout the game. I spent a lot of it dealing with Librarians. Beat the game a day ago, redid it saving ammo.

If you keep eye contact with the librarians, they won't attack you, they will just leave you alone. Just stand still and keep the eye contact. If they become too angry, just make a few steps back. After some time, they will turn around and go away.

I didn't know the level layout, kept getting stuck on walls as I moved away from them, meaning they got close to me, and when they get close enough automatically become aggressive.

I just kill the librarians. If you've got a voltdriver it only takes a few shots. With an ak it takes some mgr, I think about 20 rounds if I remember right. It takes a lot of regular bullets. Sticky grenades work well, but you can blow yourself up easily, too.

This game is the easiest when you play on Ranger mode(!!!) You just have to find hidden helsing in dead city. Your damage on ranger mode is so buffed that you'll kill the librarian with 1 or 2 shots.

Thought Ranger and Ranger Hardcore are the hardest difficulty settings?

On Ranger mode you have less health but you also deal much more damage. It means that your pistol can oneshot most of the enemies. If you are fast enough none enemy will get close enough to scratch you. You also found less ammount of ammo, but once you discover hidden Helsing on Dead City level you dont actually need it. The only exceptions are the levels where you ride on the drezine and can't retrieve the Helsing's bolts. The main problem is the mission where you have to fight with 4th Reich soldiers from your drezine(the rest of levels with human enemies can be easily completed in stealh style) because bullets are pretty deadly on Ranger mode.

if you sold both voltguns you can find you should have about 500MGR just from them, by armory i had 1000MGR that i spent on 2000 dirty rounds of rifle ammo, 500 shotgun and 500 .44

There has always been a Helsing in the library on the second level, bathroom area. 1 or 2 shots take out the librarian if the staring doesnt work, as sometimes it doesnt

I had the auto shotgun close range even On HCR Mode 5-8 direct shotgun Blasts head and upper torso does 1 in! :)

As for the BIO mass good rounds kills them faster but if you have no good rounds thats a problem! restarting is likely! but i am a scavenger and so cheap when i use ammo as controled of shots as possible so to save as much ammo as possible...also I checked every area of the game to find all ammo I could and every enemy also!
