I read somewhere that this merchant sells the best weapons in the game. And there are reagents for upgrading these weapons lying around the arena.
Now, that merchant does sell them, but just sometimes, It would be 100 times better if you go directly and Farm them (Unnamed Gear), the only place where you can get this type of gear, is in the Heavenly Steppes, also known as the Ex-Dungeon, which is a Dungeon that can be unlocked Post-Game.
This dungeon has Seven Floors/Chambers, in each floor you can get an specific part of this Unnamed Set, for example, on the Sixth floor you can get the Weapons (if I remember correctly).
So yeah, you should head there to farm those Weapons or whatever you need for your characters. If you go there to farm them, I would recommend using tittles that increase drop rate for each character, and also increasing the difficulty in case you have those Potentites or Acerite (don't remember) which increase drop rate for higher difficulties.
This concerns additional content after completing the game. When I completed Arise, it seemed that additional tasks opened up the moment I approached the teleport to the last boss. In Berseria, do you have to kill the last boss for everything to open up, or can you stop right before him?
It's kinda dumb tbh, cuz It doesn't make any sense since you already cleared the game, I suppose this is in case you want to do the side quests (which some have strong bosses) or get the 100% achievements (which only the 1% have).
