Xbox controller LB for guard doesn't work, can't find a fix

I'm stuck at the battle tutorial at the beginning of the game, because I need to guard, but pressing LB as instructed only pops up the menu. Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix for it? Thanks

if u are playing on PC, just use the Keyboard for guard, until u managed to pass the tutorial, then you go back to finding a solution using ur controller (also check the game controllers configuration)

This worked to get through that and now LB works after restarting the game. Thanks!
