How to use Geoboard in Davahl Forest?

I assumed I'd be able to since Davahl Forest is a dungeon you access from the first area you find a geotree, but for some reason it will not let me hop over the gap. Am I missing something?

First you need to find a mana point within the map which let's you activate the geoboard, this must be done for each region/dungeon you enter

And to jump the gap you should get some little boost before going over it.

So even the side dungeons have their own Geotrees? I didn't know that. Guess I have to find the Geotree then. Thank you.
