Question regarding costumes?

Does the game have worthwhile obtainable costumes within the story or are they as absent as they were in Tales of Zestiria? I just dont understand how there could be so many DLC costumes for an RPG that should have multiple different costumes within the game itself.

the only costume you can get in the game as far as i remember are

-Alernative Color
-Winter Clothes
-Jacketless Clothes
-Bathrobe

The only reason I can think of why they keep making costume as DLC is I guess japanese player just like to dress their favorite character up, or just make the character looks plain silly.

There's a handful more than that, not counting the Normin costumes (which are all just the one costume really, but in different colors). There's waiter/waitress outfits, some Villager attire for characters, an certain uniform (trying not to spoil much here...) for your spear-user, plus a jacketless version for most characters (and an alternate color for the last guy.)

It's... not a TON of variety but hey it's something. There's also a plethora of attachments to mess around with too, so that's neat.
