You can also do stuff like Dodge -> Malak to gain some fast cast.
I like the first idea, because in my opinion it's good to have no02 attack the closest enemy to him (on AI). That way he's not running all over with his low HP and defense.
When you learn to play him how you want. He has a 50% dmg down on RT, and it makes combos easy. The true power is in his second RT imo. That ability holds all of the status ailments for a long time. So totally opposite to what I say about 'position' on the battlefield, no02 can be a master of status effects if that's how you roll.
It's a feeling or gameplay style that's probably more cool with friends who are good at online games.
I put him on AI however and the enemy seems to just ignore him and let him do whatever he wants.
Best AI setting for him, would be "help team members in danger".
Also, voyd mire spell is really good, oh and dark fangs. Try them.
