About Seres Looks . . . (Major Spoilers)

Seres looks NOTHING like Celica to me and I don't get it. Malak Phi looked like Brother Laphicet until you see Innominant, then see Innominant looks WAY more like Brother Laphicet. Given how similar and recognizable those 3 boys turned out, I don't understand why the conversion for Celica to Seres turned out the way it did. Different hair, diferrent eye color, different style, even their EYEBROWS are different, which in anime-style character design is very significant. Seres also looks like she got an boob job during her reincarnation process so different body too. That's why I was genuinely surprised by the reveal because Seres looks more like a reicarnation of Eleanor than Celica.

Is there any story/lore reason I missed why Seres is SO different from Celica, meanwhile literally every other reincarnation we see in the game has some kind of resemblance to their former selves?

I always found that odd myself. Based on appearance and general personality, I would have thought Lailah from Tales of Zestiria would be a better fit as being a reincarnated Celica (it even fits fairly well with Lailah's reluctance to discuss anything about the past, as well as the oath she took to gain use of the purifying flames), but it's not really that big of a deal to me.

It's possible Innominate was manipulating his own appearance to make himself look more like Laphicet when he might not have otherwise, just to get at Velvet. I know Elearnor and Phi were discussing that very thing at one point during that whole reveal section, and that their conclusion was that Innominate really was Laphicet, but that was all just assumption on there part.

After Celica died, she was reborned as a Malak named Seres. A person's appearance won't necessarily resemble their past lives after being reborned since they are technically different people, even though they share the same "soul".
