Using a GameCube Controller possible?
I tried emulating an Xbox360 controller with vjoy+360ce, but no matter which settings I use, the game always maps forced stuff onto my controller and I can't seem to change those anywhere and the default mapping from the game is horrible for my controller and my game always rotates and I can't make it stop.. so either this way doesn't work or I missed something. It's funny cause I remapped stuff in 360ce and the same buttons still do the same thing in the game...

Couldn't find anything online this time unfort, maybe someone here knows?

Disable vjoy. Use the 360ce is enough. Afterwards, open steam settings, controller, general config, make Xbox 360 support is ticked.
(I'm not entirely sure if it works or not, but I think it should work)

Afaik I need Vjoy for my controller to be recognized by the Wii U Adapter software, but I haven't fully tested it.

Edit: Tested it and 360ce doesnt recognize my controller without the use of the Wii U Adapter software, which only works in combination with Vjoy for me (thus far).

Honest question, why stick with such an outdated controller when the 360/One controllers are so widely implemented?

It's by far the most comfortable controller I've used thus far and I used it the most out of any controller growing up. I got a PS2 / PS3 controller as well and I did use my PS3 controller on my PC for some games, such as Tales of Zestiria, but I always found it not very comfy to use, hurting my hands (primarily the shoulder buttons, I have pretty small hands and thus the shoulder buttons stretched and rubbed my fingers a lot and that quickly caused mild pain, I obv stopped there before it got worse).

Since I'm using my GC Controller for Tales of Symphonia now, got that to work very nicely, I'd prefer to do the same for Berseria as well.

Regarding Xbox, I never owned that console thus never had one of those controllers myself. I did use an Xbox controller at a friends house once however, but I disliked how it felt. It's tbh pretty similar to a GC Controller in it's layout, but maybe exactly because of that, the differences in the grip felt even weirder.

Ok thought it was weird but that actually makes sense, heard a few people complain about the difference in feel between PS/Xbox controllers for the same reason.

Shame that the GC controller works for Symphonia and not Berseria as the latter is the better of the 2 imo. Probably something real simple too, had a similar issue with a older racer/newer wheel not pairing up, turned out it was a single digit in the game code causing it.

Anyways best of luck on a solution.

Thanks. Atm I decided to just use the mouse and go to the menu a lot to reassign skills every new area/bossfight to be able to hit all the weaknesses. With the mouse, I still have access to 10 different skills which is enough to hit all the attributes and elements for the combos. It's more comfy than solo keyboard, too!

The issue with Berseria and controllers seems to be, that it's trying to detect and automatically map my gamepad, but that conflicts with me trying to emulate the gamepad to be something else, which is awkward. Normally it would work, but since the controller is so outdated the automated mapping screws up hard and doesnt even let me change it. Maybe I'll find a workaround sometime, but atm I'm not looking for one since it seems fine with the mouse and a little patience to use the menu and place skills efficiently to cover all the enemies of an area.
