Is Intense difficulty supposed to be done in a NG+?
The difficulty seems pretty ridiculous- and not in a good way.
Bosses take ~15 minutes of spamming attacks at them due to the sheer amount of HP. I havent seen such HP sponges in quite a long time...

You also die in 2-3 hits... this reeks of artificial difficulty/number inflation

I mean, if this is what Intense is like, then what the heck have you done with Chaos difficulty? O_o

Also the bosses LOVE to spam Guard, I dont know if thats related to difficulty but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, its so annoying!

I have been stuck at the same boss fight for days now... I think I kinda forgot what the heck my party was doing story wise by now xDDDD

I honestly, dont really like the combat in this game all that much. I think its tedious how much HP the bosses have, not a fan of the Soul system (Which seems very biased), and also Velvet is OP (For survival; her damage is quite lame just like everyone’s else) and the other members useless compared to her, which is... odd, although I guess not completely unexpected.
Zestira was a lot more fun to play for me. But everything else about the game is solid though.

Intense Difficulty is meant more for those who are taking advantage of the game's equipment enhancement system and boosting their gear up beyond just the occasional upgrade here and there. It requires some grinding, but it's not all that bad once you get the hang of it and are kitted out properly.

In order to help deal with an enemy who is guarding a lot, remember that you have the ability to break an enemies guard by either using your Break Soul attack, or by using your Guard Charge ability, which activates by guarding for a few seconds (while holding guard, after a few seconds your character will flash blue, green, and then red). When you see the red flash, it indicates that your very next attack will break the enemies guard and have an increased Stun chance, opening them up to be combo'd.

And if you're having trouble with getting stunned or staggered, I would recommend focusing on enhancing Rings and Armor. Rings will greatly decrease the time that you are stunned the more they are enhanced, and Armor will reduce stagger duration, if you're attacks get interrupted you won't be left vulnerable for so long.

...lol I didnt knew you could enhance Rings and Armor yet. All this time I thought you would be able to upgrade them later in the game, I only enhanced Weapons since thats the only thing it shows you in the first menu.

But theres a section for Rings and Boots as well... So I have been playing on Intense without enhancing anything other than weapons lol.

I already knew about the guarding thing, although sometimes I swear it does not work and the enemy blocks me anyway...

Another thing I changed was my arte trees. I have 1 dedicated to Stun and another dedicated to neutral attacks + some weaknesses. It seems to work fairly decently.

Anyway I finally managed to beat the annoying Kraken boss thanks to enhancing these things (Plus trying to focus a but more on the, well, Focus stat, instead of pumping everything into just Attack)

Everything is double the level of my party but I assume thats just an Intense difficulty thing.

Now the game finally feels playable again, thanks.
