The mystery of "Zaveid's subquest" and getting back to Hexen Isle

I'm not sure why, but an hour of online research has revealed that nobody understands how to provide step by step instructions on how to get back to Hexen Isle. I got bits and pieces from a couple different messageboards, something about Zaveid's foster family in the cliffside town, which I visited, and talking to a guy in a warehouse to get a dragon book, which I did, but there are no exorcists anywhere. Could someone please give up those step by step instructions that should have existed years ago? Thanks guys.

Edit 1: Got fed up with waiting, starting visiting every town and talking to every exclamation point. The exorcists were in Hellawes, said the dragon is in Gaiburk Ice Field. Will update again with more detailed information.

Edit 2: After the fight with Zaveid in Gaiburk Ice Field, I traveled to Reneed because I'd seen that town mentioned as a place where one of Tabatha's messengers will give you the quest to kill the dragon. The guy was there, and he gave the quest to kill the dragon in Aldina Plains.

The Exorcists don't show up in Stoneburry until he's completed the questline.

- After Gaiburk, you'll need to go to the town in Reneed.
- There, you'll find someone to talk to, who will send you back to the mountain top near Stoneburry.
- After finishing with the mountain top, you'll need to go back to Taliesin to talk with the family again.
- After you're done there, you can go back to Stoneburry to talk to the Exorcists, which will unlock Hexen Isle.

Basing this on memory, but that should be correct.


Side-note: I believe you also need to have completed Laphicet's side-quest with the medicine, but I don't know for sure. If you finish the above and the Exorcists still aren't in Stoneburry, that could be why.

Just for the future, as this turns up in google and I just did it, from start to finish:
- Be at the end of the game, when all sorts of side quests unlocked, just before returning to the throne
- Start out in Talesin, talking to the family.
- Then, go to Reneed and talk to a guy at the dock.
- The guy sends you to Port Cadnix (Inside Warehouse) to get the book.
- After that, visit Hellawes port, listen to two exorcists discussing a wounded white-horn dragon, pointing you to Gaiburk ice field.
- Go to Meirchio
It may or may not be neccessary to complete one or two of the side quests here, but starting the first will lock you out of progression in this quest until it's done for sure:
-- If you talk to Medissa (Mother Therian) in Meirchio, you may be forced to take a detour for another quest for medicine. The event will not show up until that quest is complete.
-- If you talk to Kamoana in the inn room right after finishing the previous one, another, short, quest will start that is contained within Meirchio
- Take the east exit from Meirchio. Turn right, then up the wall. If there's no event here, you may have to do the mentioned quests first.
Continueing where Supernova above started:
- Go to Reneed, talk with the Bloodwing woman. Another sighting of the dragon!
- Go to the mountain in Aldina plains near Stonebury (Exit from Aldina labeled "Mountain Peaks"). Funnily enough this fight is easier than the previous one.
- Back to the family in Talesin
- Back to Stonebury and talk to the Exorcists

i got the event where aizen opens the chest on the beach, he finds a book manual to the weapon zaveid has and gives it to laphicet. i couldn't find the follow-up event with zaveid even though i finished aizen quest and visited orphans zavied supporting in taliesin. is there one or is it just foreshadowing for zeistria?
