When you will get other Therions, you will understand that it's their normal Therion form.
That Tree was her Demon-Therion form.

velvet doesn't get that because as the main caracter she get's special treatment from the halo effect
if anything it's velvet that is the weird one for looking complely human at first sigth

I agree on that. The english VA is actually well done execpt Kamoana. The moment I heard her the first time I had to Alf+F4 and switch back to glorious nippon masterrace language.
Who ever thought that would be a fitting voice for Kamoana deserves to get slapped with a damn tuna.

I imagine that some kids do not sound pleasant when they throw tantrums. Kamoana is bratty and needy from an unrefined upbringing. So I can understand what they were going for. Just a tad raspy for onscreen imho. But it still fits in terms of story.
