You do realize that now adays, even alot of 'Physical' copy PC games are really just an automated downloader, right?

yeah but i don't buy those types of games, luckily i always liked games that didn't used this type of physical version. But if tales of series does not have physical edition, i don't buy...

it's a solo game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, not even connected to the internet or anything :(

yeah, there won't be a physical copy for PC - if you have a PS4 or PS4 Pro, there should be a physical copy on that since its a console. i believe the console version has both physical and digital.

This is the only thing i am abit sad about tbh.

Really would have wanted a physical copy of this.

While I understand a little that physical copy is what we used to get, now I prefer digital copy since I always get the latest version of that game since new games now have bug fixes or DLC most of the time anyway and requires less space to keep by storing it on hard drives. I already have many CD's and DVD's with a few blu-ray disc that are stored in 5 boxes that fills nearly half of my storage room. If I had continued like this it might be full right now. I do not need covers manuals etc and even those have digital versions of it. The discs I have are from PC, PSX, PS2, Dreamcast, PS3, Xbox, Xbox360, GameCube, Wii, Movies, Anime, TV-series and Audio CD's that I have bought and a few of those especially PC disc have already some read errors or will not read at all. It also takes more time to read data off those disc's than from a hard disk or SSD. So far I have two 6TB and two 8 TB NAS drives to store most of my recent digital files since 2011 and I have to say its much easier to look up a game, movie or whatever than going through disc's to look for what you want especially since my storage area is not that big and would require me stacking those boxes on top of each other so getting some old disk will take some work.

You "own" the physical version of the game just as much you would own a USB stick that you decided to back up the digital one to. The disc is nothing but a delivery medium, one that is becoming increasingly outdated in this day and age. You were NEVER paying for that disc itself, even in the pre-internet days. You were paying for the data on the disc.

or if you are unlucky, you only get a Steam key in the disk. Nothing else.

I remember buying Dishonored 2 on physical disc. When I read that you will have download it through steam anyway, I thought, " What's the use then?". I went ahead in bought it just to cut the download time to be honest. See, I prefer digital copies nowadays, since you can re-download it if you want, but the main reason I want a disc copy is so that I can just install it after coming from work or something.

There's still some advantage for physical discs.. the problem is, since the files size of recent games (50gb on average) is too large for dvds, the would need to put in BluRays which in turn make it more expensive on both side (since you will need a BR drive). :steamfacepalm:
