Crash at the startup

I preloaded and after unpacking it won't start only showing a error message. Demo worked fine so weird.

Try verifying your files. Right click Tales of Berseria on your list of games in your library and go to Properties. The button to verify should be in one of the tabs.

already done that three times and tried running it without antivirus but still no result...

Hmm... Did you recently update your computer within the past few days, or has it been a while since you last updated? If it's the latter, then try updating/restarting your computer and see if that solves it. If your computer is updated and it isn't working, I'd try and see if your drivers or antivirus needs updating. This game just came out so it might not be totally recognized/compatible by your antivirus/drivers. If that's the case, don't worry, that should change within the day.

Otherwise, I'd try running diagnostics on your system to make sure the relevant graphics/processors are functioning/installed. That happened to me when I tried playing another JRPG a couple months back and I had to reinstall an old distributable that got deleted when I updated to Windows 10.

Getting the same issue. The game worked just fine at first, but I closed the game to take a short break and then I'm stuck with a black screen (sometimes the bandai logo shows up or the language selection screen) until the game stops responding

specs:
fx 8320
R9 280
16gb RAM
Windows 10 Pro

They've changed something since the demo build to fix the 7.1 audio issues. Its messing with Kaldaien's mod too. You guys tried changing your audio channels to stereo or something?

Nope havent changed anything. Simply clicked play on steam then windows error msg occurs.
Very weird cuz demo worked fine..

Same problem here. I was able to play a little, but after quitting and comming back, it just goes black screen either when I open the game or when I try to load my save file.
This issue is so bad that when the Namco screen loads, if I s much as move my mouse, the game freezes and I have to close it. Also, If I click, it goes on that (Not responding, close/wait for response)

I did what you said and it works!
I guess setting the game into full-screen is causing crash at the startup.

If I delete the folder, it works fine. But it crash again after I quit the game and restart...what the hell. I had to configure the controller profile everytime...
