Is dangerous encounter and dire foes worth it?
I always fought dire foes one time and flee if I met the same dire foe.
dangerous encounter, always flee when I meet these fight. sure these fight give good grade but chain encounter already give good grade without the risk.

I think these fight worth it end game when I have good gear but right now it's not.
I'm gladly fight these encounter if the game give me little penalty when my party die. I playing on intense so stun mean dead. sure switch blast can save me but not my party, it's always too late when they get stun then 1-2 shot and some time they die off screen. the game give the same penalty when it's not my mistake.

Yes. Normally I finish a Tales game with only 1k to 2k Grade. I did Dangerous Encounters and Dire Foes on Intense, and I ended up with 11k Grade on my first run on PC. I could buy everything in the Grade store and have well over 4k Grade left over.

Learning to soul burst to heal is key, and keeping an eye on your party memebers is key as well. The harder the difficulty, the more the AI ganks up on your party members, and a single KO can destroy your grade result.

Also, Dire Foes are constant in regions. As you progress through the game and get to newer areas, you'll encounter some different Dire Foes, but it's always a Hanged Man with 2 mobs, or a Killer Wasp with 2 mobs and so forth.

The only thing you gain from dangerous encounter + dire foes is a ton of Grade.

Running might seem worth it, but you have to understand that it resets your grade multiplier, your bottle (dark or holy) and you don't get any rewards from the battle you just fought (exp, gald, grade and items are all going down the drain).

The safest way to beat those dire foes is to tell your team to focus on defending and go for it with either Velvet or Rokurou.
Telling your allies to defend usually lets them not get hit much and they like to put distance with the enemies, and those two characters can reliably down a boss solo with good use of their soul break.

You need to kill each Dire foe for achievements and glacites w/e, so at least do them once and they are a great source of Grade also, farming Lindwurm is the best way to farm exp/grade.

I never bothered before close to end of game/after clear data myself and was never really hurting that much for it. Missed some gear drops and whatnot but as long as you're not dying/using items on bosses you get enough grade for most gear pre-end game.

Also, keep in mind that upgraded gear is the most important thing for dangerous encounter, far above actual stats (although having good focus helps).

Weapon and accessory are ok but not that important, boots, armour and rings are very much the difference between living and dying in those dangerous encounters.
+10 armour gives 50% stagger reduction, +10 ring gives 90% stun time reduction and +10 boots give 500 HP each time you do a timed side step.

Obviously, the extras from having a lot of enhancement levels equipped do help too.

For those that find that they too easily kill your multipliers, a good alternative to dangerous encounters is dark bottles, as it spawns reinforcements without boosting enemies themselves, giving you good drop chances and better exp, gald and grade than normal encounters too.

Also, +10 character specific accessory gives +100% Burst damage and affects.
