Farming for bronze/silver/gold scrap?
Hey all. I've nearly finished with all achievements for Tales of Berseria so I've also begun the arduous process of grinding to get all equipment to +10. I've finished with all non-rare gear (amber, calcite, fluoric, amphibole, feldspar, quartz, topaz, mythril, adamantine), so my next task is to tackle the rare equipment. I already have at least one of everything, so that's not an issue. What I need are the materials for upgrading rare gear (bronze scrap, silver scrap, gold scrap, platinum scrap). I know I can fetch platinum scrap from the EX Dungeon without much difficulty (and void scrap, for that matter), but I don't know of a quick or efficient way to pick up the other types of scrap outside of spamming mobs to get rare gear drops to dismantle.

So, does anyone have any insight on this?

Depending on how much gald you can burn through, shops might be an easier way to get those special drops if you already got one from enemies/chests.

If you are in the EX dungeon, you should already have both of the bottomless bottles, so just teleport to each town, buy special drops, and when you visited every town go to a field to beat 3 groups and you can do it again.

It will cost you a lot, but it might be faster than farming dangerous encounters with all of the drop-boosting things (mystic artes, cooking, titles and equipments).

My main problem for those equipments has been that they each require 5 odorless liquids (for +3), so that's been what it limiting me more than the scraps.

That's a good idea. Unless something better comes along I'll use the shop/fight approach. I'm sitting on a little more than 20mil right now so I should be fine for a while. Probably not enough to get everything to +10 but I can always farm for more (boss island).

For odorless fluid I spam boss island on simple.

First time I hear about a place that drops them, I was getting tired of the low rate on the shiny points everywhere, thanks for the tip.

The foes on boss island do not drop odorless fluid directly, but on simple you have a higher chance of getting gear that has no random skills, which can be dismantled for odorless fluid. I go to boss island for this so I can farm for those while also raking in gald.

You learn things every day, I had no idea that lower difficulty affected it that much.
Thanks a lot, now I can finally consider those non-standard equipments too.

Just make sure to upgrade all your equips to +1 before dismantling them since it will get you back more than you invest into the 1 upgrade if you aren't already doing that.

He will definitely need a lot of all of the powders and fluids, so he'll need to do a lot of +1, +5 and +8 dismantling, so definitely doing some of the +1 on the things he makes his base material from is not a bad idea, but I would think that he already knows that those are the "optimal" dismantling levels.
You are right that we should not assume though, basic things like that can definitely go unnoticed and cause a lot of troubles.
