Dual Mystic Arte Chain
Hello guys, I know how to chain normal mystic artes and how to do dual mystic artes, I learned the one with Velvet and Laphicet
I would like to chain during a combo but it does not work
I can make those dual work alone but not in a chain
This is what I do
During a regular mystic arte I press C and Right and Up, but it triggers only Velvet one, I make sure that the replacement chars are on top/bottom of Velvet but it does not work
I even tryied C plus T (top replacement chars which is Laphicet) and Right arrow, still nothing :(
I make sure that both have 5 BE, and they always works alone but not in chain :(

You cannot chain starting from a regular Mystic Arte into a Dual Mystic Arte.

What you can do is initiate a chain with a Dual Mystic Arte and chain a Dual Mystic Arte by chaining into either Eizen/Rokurou (with the other as sub) or Eleanor/Magilou (with the other as sub).

Oh so You can chain single with single and dual with dual?
What about start with dual and then continue with single?
Single after Single, you cannot chain duals.

The answer to the latter being: Can be done.

Basically as long as you start with a dualMA game will let you utilize dualMAs in the chain as long as the regular requirements are met - one partner on the field, one partner as a sub (both having 5 BG). Anyone who either doesn't have a dualMA yet or whose partner is listed as a sub will utilize a regular MA (following the start-MA1-MA2-MA2-MA3... format iirc).

If you manipulate your party in the right fashion you should be able to utilize all 3 dMAs in a chain, I suppose. I haven't actually tried that.

So, start off with a single MA, and you can only get singles.
Start off with a dual MA and as long as you meet the requirements, you'll get dual MAs being used instead of singles.

It does look like a whole lot of work instead of "just" chaining 6 rank 3 mystic artes from eleonore though, so I hope the damage is worth it at least.

How would you be able to chain all 3 dual MAs in one combo - party size is only 6 meaning 2 people out max meaning only 2 subs to use a dual MA at a single string - unless it's possible to only have a party size of 3 and have 3 subs out but never found a way to do that myself (without cheat mods anyway).

Purely speculation, but my idea was exactly what LeeSiuLoong says up above here. Chain your first dMA into the 2nd dMA, then perform a regular MA on the 3rd char, perform a regular MA on a subcharacter, and then perform the 3rd dMA after by chaining to the fourth character as its partner is now on the sub state.

Or to make it a bit more visual with an example:
Laphicet Velvet Eizen Eleanor Magilou Rokurou

dMA between Velvet + Laphicet (leaves 4 BG on each),
chain to Eizen
dMA between Eizen + Rokurou (leaves 4 BG on each),
chain to Eleanor,
singular MA2 (leaves 5 BG)

at this point:
Laphicet Velvet Eizen Eleanor Magilou Rokurou

chain to Rokurou,
singular MA2 (leaves 0 BG),

at this point:
Laphicet Velvet Eizen Rokurou Magilou Eleanor

chain to Magilou,
dMA between Magilou + Eleanor (leaves 4BG on Magilou, 0 BG on Eleanor)

Remaining BG:
Velvet 4
Laphicet 4
Magilou 4
Eizen 4
Rokurou 0
Eleanor 0

I actually don't have a save at the moment that I can use to try this with, hence the bolded part in my original post.

Yes, you have to initiate a switch of character 1 to character 2 and while pending, hold the MA button. Easiest way to get it done properly is to set it up during an arte with a sufficient execution time. Something like Slicing Foot on Velvet is so short you'll likely miss the timeframe for it.
