My party comp 99% of the time is Velvet (Me), Laphicet, Eleanor, and Magoliu. I'll swap for Eizen when i need more melee, i mostly never have Rokuro, his dmg never seems up to par imo.
Same here. I swap out Velvet when I want to controll something that isn't her so the AI doesn't get her killed.
Otherwise I use the whole party. The character I play swaps fairly regularly between Eizen, Velvet, and Rokuro. The friend I play with takes the other three.
Magi and Phi are always in the party, casters AI is very good this time around.
As for my main, I use Eleanor and swap her out for Velvet when I'm in trouble, or to Magi when there are many enemy casters. Eizen's BS is also situational, but knockdowns and stuns tend to fly around a lot.
Rokurou is not a bad character but honestly, but his playstyle is not very well inspired. Nothing about him makes me want to pursue his playstyle much.
I'm surprised that you don't play Eizen since this game rewards status effect spamming and kind of cuts players short on the dodge mechanic. One combo with Eizen will pretty much fill his soul gauge all the way. If you stun an opponent in any "Tales of" game, they're fully open to damage from any angle for a pretty long period of time enabling hardcore combos. Not to mention how much gear in this game enables the characters who equip them to deal an additional percentage damage to stunned foes. In this game, Eizen is godly.
I main Rokurou or Eizen. Eizen and Eleanor are always in team because of the double Raise. Laphicet's spell spam is always great.
Now, Magilou is just dominating against caster, but the AI just doesn't play her very well (doesn't Spell Absorb as much, and doesn't LOOK A SHOOTING STAR as much). Hence why I keep her at bay for the time I need to use her. Switching her in instead of having her from the start of battle would ensure me having at least one shot (in Risky Encounter) at Spell Absorber.
Velvet is well, OP. Having her benched would ensure that she's in top form to slaughter everyone. Whenever I was stunned, it's my conditional reflex by now to switch to her immediately and rampage. Also, AI sucked using her, especially after getting Nightmare Claw. Hence why I don't trust the AI with her and would rather she be benched.
I agree.I can spam Eizens Break Soul (the first and the second) like velvet's and after doing so a few attacks and his souls are fully up again.
Nonetheless my party is Velvet+Laphi+Rokurou+Magilou
If i have no souls left with velvet or situational i switch over to Eizen or Eleanor
Wrong. Set her up right and she'll do constant perfect Spell Absorbers and murder everything, she is ridiculous.
