-Symphonia also "kind of" have different endings. The main ending is the still the same, but the difference is whether Zelos remain in your party, or Kratos replaces Zelos instead later on depending on your choice in the flanoir scene near the end game.
-ToS: Dawn of the New World had 2-3 different endings, all of them are similar, but with some difference.
-Zestiria had 2 endings.
-Symphonia only have different versions
-Please don't make this piece of ♥♥♥♥ part of the main series, even Namdai refuse to recognize it
-Does it even roll credits? I don't remember.
When Laphicet (I'm sorry, I mean MAOTELUS) became the Empyreon to replace Innominat, there are several things to consider. The first is that since he is a new empyreon transformed from Laphicet, by nature he is likely more powerful than Innominat was at his defeat (hungry).
Second, he used the flames of purification on the entire planet, purifying everyone. The floating temple is in that category.
Things get a little vague here because Velvet had no despair, no malevolence after the flames of purification would have penetrated the temple. She may still be a demon in Rokuro's position - having a demon hand, but a human heart, but may no longer be a Therion. This all would prevent Innominat from being able to feed on her to gain strength, and she wouldn't need to feed on him either, as it may remove her Therion abilities.
So this will likely cause an eventual separation. Innominat would be literally replaced by Maotelus and may just fade, or die. Or he may be reverted back to the previous form used for his summoning - laphicet.
Velvet would no longer have her Therion powers, as was implied when you saw the other Therions reverting back.
This means that the slideshow you see during the credits is like an epilogue of what may happen.
This means that them both being sealed would only have importance when they both have their powers, when Maotelus took over, that became completely irrelevant. Even should Innominat be awakened, will be in far too weak a state to even content with Laphicet, who could already fight him before his transformation in the first place.
This means you could see this ending in several different ways. On the surface its a sad ending, but deep below, it may not be - depending on how you prefer to interpret it. In my preference, Velvet and Laphicet went on the journey you see in the epilogue - thanks to Maotelus' powers. I choose a happy ending.
And rolls the credits twice.
But you can't miss either one if you play through the whole thing.
Tales of Graces F has a good ending and you continue playing after you beat the game to play the F portion of the story.
But you didn't even see that credit roll, did you. Your interpretation makes no sense. I recommend defeating the final bosses again and watching the credit roll without being afk.
Yeah Xillia 2 had soo many Endings X_X all those dialogue choices. Dang the Feels were real in those.
Also the Symphonia ending has different cahracters saying different lines depending on your relationship levels.
Omg yes the way the endings in Dawn of The new World were done was awesome !
Well Zestiria had 2 endings but the other was more like an extra cutscene to tell you Game Over you shouldnt have done that and it doesnt even end the game just lets you continue like nothing ever happened.
The graces Future thing F portion of Story is like what they done with Alisha DLC in Zestiria honestly though Graces F Future Arc was much better then Zestiria's
I love that interpretation, seriously.
Now let me be an a*****e and throw a bit of realism to that theory. Those drawings can be anything really. A dream Velvet is having, a dream Laphicet is having, some random stuff from the art department that was thrown in at the last moment. The fact that it is presented as drawings makes it even more ambiguous.
There is a thing, tough. The last drawing is the key, I think. If they are drawings of Laphicet (Crowe) from before all this adventure happen (another possible interpretation), then there is no way he drawed Velvet in therion form or seraph Laphicet behind them. So they made sure to destroy that possible interpretation. It still may be only a dream some of them are having.
What I choose to believe? Those are drawings, just drawings. But in that last burst of holy power after the credits, after Rokurou beating some random demons, seraph Laphicet reincarnated as the son of previously reincarnated Artorius, and previously reincarnated Velvet and Laphicet are his aunt and uncle. And ambiguity goes on: because if those drawings are only a project Laphicet has in mind, the outcome may not necessarily be what he expects. But let's believe that if he chose to reincarte it is because Artorius and Velvet's sister are already married.
There is artistic value in a story that gives you a sad and happy ending at the same time. Good, they don't think only in making money. Videogames are about art too after all.
At the end of the story, we see Velvet locked in her eternal embrace with Laphicet/Innominat. But, we also see Maotelus unleash his Silver Flame, which turns most of humanity...and the therions, which will be important in a minute...back into humans.
Now, Maotelus is an Empyreon. He's not connected to Innominat anymore. Nor are the Therions. You might think, "Great! That means Velvet was restored to humanity too!", but hold your horses there...there's a reason Rokurou remained a demon, and it's the same reason that every other little detail that you might have noticed in the story at some point became important, like Laphicet copying that book, or Velvet not being able to taste, or the comb being the thing that ultimately allows Velvet to beat Innominat. These are all Chekov's Gun, and so is Rokurou remaining a demon. His heart was too corrupted to be returned to human, his sins too deep to be purged.
Same with Velvet. But every other single being connected to Innominat was restored and freed from that connection. Were Innominat to die at that point, every single one of them...INCLUDING VELVET, were she to forgive herself and allow herself to be cleansed...would be safe. Even if not, it would only be her and Innominat dying, and she's made it abundantly clear that she's okay with dying.
Which means that, ultimately, Velvet sacrificed herself to an eternity of damnation sealing away a god of suppression...for nothing.
IE: Velvet lives and have to attone for her sins... or Velvet kills innominant but dies in the process... BUT NO, they have to choose "eternal embrace", complety senseless...
