Local Multiplayer

Ok this might be a dumb question but how does one play local multiplayer on this game? The past Tales games just had you switching your second character from Auto to Semi-Auto or Manual. In this game there seems to be no such options for your other characters (just the main one). Help please?

Hook up a second controller, then press start and find Controller Options. Change the top box to player 2, and assign the second controller to player 2. Ha, it actually sounds really convoluted when I type it all out

Well I figured he knew that since he mentioned it in his post. Also semi-auto is fine

First, plug whatever controller for the second player (ideally both of you on controllers, it has been repported by some people that the first controller doesn't always work as player 2).
Go to the controller options, the "player 1" option should now have arrows next to it to switch to the configuration of player 2 (and 3-4 if there are enough controllers detected, including virtual ones like vjoy).
Configure the second player by setting the right controller for it.

Go back to the menu, go to Artes of the second character from the Left, set it to semi-auto or manual (it is for the slot, not the character, same as the first slot for player 1).

It worked fine like that for me (both for vjoy to fix the bug and when I had someone to play the second player).

Yeah, admittedly I just wanted to take a poke at people who use semi auto.
