When you first play your game, some of your game files are NOT COMPLETE, and Denuvo completes them with a special set of code encryption that is unique to your computer and your computer only. From that point on, you can then play offline, and anyone trying to use your game files or edit them will find that they cannot play the game.
If you have a major update, or any hardware changes, you'll have to play the game online again to re-authenticate your game files with Denuvo, done automatically.
